Paul Kennedy currently anchors telecasts across the State of Florida on Bally Sports for the NHL Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning, as well as select games for the NBA Orlando Magic, positions he’s held since the creation of both franchises. With a television career spanning five decades, he arrived in Florida in 1988 to call the action for Florida State University football, basketball, and baseball on Sunshine Network, following five years as the radio “Voice of the Crimson Tide” at the University of Alabama.
He soon was involved in hosting and describing the action for the Florida Marlins and Baseball Night in America on ABC and NBC, as well as the NFL on FOX and college games on FOX Sports Net.
Kennedy also assists in the production of scripts for FOX Sports, focused on the NFL, Major League Baseball, Golf, the Westminster Dog Show, and major collegiate events such as the Army-Navy Game.
His broadcasting assignments have taken him to NFL Europe, Wimbledon, The British Open, basketball in Japan, water skiing in France, golf in Mexico City and Equestrian Grand Prix show jumping events throughout North America televised on ESPN.
For 15 seasons he called Southeastern Conference men’s football and basketball as well as a variety of other sports for both men and women on behalf of Jefferson Pilot and Raycom Sports.
He and his wife Joan have run numerous marathons on three continents and summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in 2019.
