May 14: David Barilla, Executive Director, City of Orlando Downtown Development Board Explains Downtown Roads Going Two Ways

David Barilla is the Executive Director for the City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board and Community Redevelopment Agency, where he has spent the past 15 years advancing transformational public-private partnerships and driving billions of dollars in investment into downtown Orlando’s residential, mixed-use, hospitality, and entertainment sectors. His leadership has helped double the urban core population, expand world-class venues, and advance catalytic projects such as Creative Village and the forthcoming WestCourt sports and entertainment district, and DTO Action Plan which are positioning downtown Orlando for generational change.

Recognized statewide and locally for his impact, David was named one of Florida’s Most Influential Businessmen in the 2025 Florida 500 by Florida Trend and “One to Watch” in 2024 and 2025 by Orlando Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful People edition.
