September 4: Justin Zimmerman, Sea World's Florida Coral Rescue Center: Why And How We Save Coral

Justin Zimmerman, is an Aquarium Supervisor at SeaWorld Parks & Resorts Orlando, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The Pennsylvania State University. He oversees the daily operations of the Florida Coral Rescue Center and SeaWorld’s Coral Rescue, which houses the world's largest land-based collection of rescued Caribbean coral.
Leading a team of eight Biologists, his efforts are focused on gene banking and culturing 18 species of native stony corals, with the ultimate goal of restoring thousands of baby corals to Florida’s Coral Reef. Justin actively collaborates with organizations like the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to advance these critical conservation efforts. He will be speaking about the current status of Florida's Reef Tract, highlighting the importance of coral reefs and the ongoing initiatives to save them within the state.
