Hybrid Meeting – July 21, 2022
Nikko James is a rising home-schooled senior and has been a Boy Scout in Troop 24 for four years.
In addition to Scouting, Nikko participates in competitive Forensics in both Speech and Debate as well as Mock Trial. As Mock Trial Team Captain, he led his team to a second-place finish in the state of Florida last year.
He serves as a Student Mentor at Invictus Advocacy Academy, where he enjoys
mentoring new students and helping them succeed in competitive Forensics.
Nikko’s favorite subject in school is math. It is also a passion that led him to found Amplitwist, a math tutoring organization that tutors local underprivileged students in math. Under his leadership, dozens of students have succeeded in school, and learned to love math.
In addition to math, Nikko enjoys science. Last year, he worked as a Lab Assistant at Seminole State College. During his tenure there, he conducted a Biology Research project. His study was conducted to determine whether or not certain plants could be used to successfully treat E.Coli. The paper was submitted for faculty review and is currently under consideration for publication. Nikko enjoys bike riding, reading, basketball, and taking long hikes. Nikko will be busy this Fall applying to college and hopes to earn his Doctorate in Mathematics.
