October 5, 2023: Rebuild Yourself – Cynthia Borgwing

Rebuild Yourself – Cynthia Borgwing

Hybrid Meeting – October 5, 2023

Cynthia Borgwing is the Founder and Executive Director of Rebuild Yourself Inc, a 501(c)3 nonprofit focused on building self-esteem, confidence, and friendships for teenagers in a post-pandemic environment.  Cynthia believes teenage mental and social health can be dramatically improved through a sense of community, friends, and shared experiences. Cynthia has seen this through her organization, Rebuild Yourself Inc. Cynthia is now focused on building a fundraising network to further support the expansion of Rebuild Yourself Inc to other parts of Florida, and eventually all the United States. Cynthia was awarded District 4 Citizen of the year for 2022.  Cynthia holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Keller Management School, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas Edison State University.

While developing and expanding Rebuild Yourself Inc, Cynthia is also employed at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Cynthia has worked for the last 9.5 years at the VHA as an Associate Director, leading healthcare transformation through the development and implementation of healthcare training and accountability information systems for Veterans.  Prior to working for VHA, Cynthia was in the United States Navy. As a Navy Veteran, Cynthia spent eight years as a Master-at-Arms (Law Enforcement) in Cuba, Virginia, and Oklahoma. Cynthia also is a two-time recipient of the Navy/Marine Achievement Medal.

Cynthia’s favorite thing to do when she is not working with members of Rebuild Yourself, Inc, is being at home with her husband Jonathan and her five children playing board games, watching movies, and shopping.
